After an antivirus detects a virus on your computer, it would not place them anywhere but it would delete them with your permission. It's like throwing the virus in the trashcan (if it was physical). But throwing it in the trashcan would represent deleting it in the Recycle Bin whereas the virus is permanently deleted from your system so that example would be inaccurate.
