if the degrees are the same, divide the coefients of the highest powers
if the degree of the the numerator is larger than the degree of the denomenator, it has no horizontal assemtote
vertical assemtote
get the fraction into simplest form then set the denomenator equal to 0
alright, we want no horizontal assemtote and a vertical assemtote at x=1

x-1=0
that will be the denomenator
and the numerator degree must be greater than denomenator
so
