let's try it out


hmm, lets make up some fake dimentions

lets say we have a box that is 1ft by 2ft by 5ft
that makes 10 cubic feet

now we convert each to feet
1ft=12 inches
2ft=24 inches
5ft=12*5=60 inches

so
12*24*60=17280

alright
10 times what=17280?
divide both sides by 10
what=1728

so mulitply it by 1728 (which is 12^3)
