The Diversity of Families

Personal and professional reflections are an important part of the learning process for educators, but especially for those who are learning to interact and engage with families and young children.
Students will complete 1 weekly journal reflection per week to reflect upon what they have learned from the week’s content/materials (e.g., readings, materials, class activities, discussions, etc.) and to discuss how they might implement these ideas or strategies in future EC settings/in a practical manner.

Reflections should demonstrate the student’s understanding of Culturally Relevant Anti- Bias Education and be respectfully stated or written.

The weekly journal reflection is an essential tool for educators to process their learning and contemplate how to apply new ideas and strategies in practical early childhood settings. It is an opportunity for students to engage with the course content, such as readings, materials, class activities, and discussions, and consider how these insights can be integrated into their future work with young children and families. The reflections are expected to showcase an understanding of Culturally Relevant Anti-Bias Education and should be expressed respectfully.
