Invasion of Normandy. On June 6, 1944, Led by
Eisenhower, over a million troops (which is the largest invasion force in
history) stormed the beaches at Normandy and started the process of re-taking
France. The joined forces of America, Britain, Canada,
and France attacked the German forces on the coastline of Normandy, France.
With a huge force of over 150,000 soldiers, the Allies attacked and achieved triumph
that became the turning point for World War II in Europe.
