A parcel of land is in the shape of a rectangle with length L(in feet). sixty-five percent of the length is waterfront and 70 feet of the length is not waterfront. Write and solve an equation to find the length of the parcel of land.

The length of the land = the length of the waterfront + the length of dry land

The length of the land = L
The length of the waterfront = 0.65L
The length of the dry land = 70 feet

L = 0.65L + 70
L - 0.65L = 70
0.35L = 70
L = 70 ÷ 0.35
L = 200 feet
