The importation of African slaves into the Americas effectsly affected the Americas. In the United States, the acquaintance of slaves drove with a conviction of a "mediocre" race which penetrated southern culture for a long time. As a result of subjugation, numerous southerners couldn't envision a general public where whites and blacks lived as equivalents. It prompted major financial contrasts between the North and South.

Cause - Spanish and Portuguese relied on Natives to do their labor through the enforcement of the encomienda system and the mit'a system. However, because of diseases and harsh conditions, many Natives died or they ran away because they were familiar with the territory. To make up for the lack ok labour, the Spanish and Portuguese began to import slaves from Africa.
Effects - Because men were often chosen as slaves, there was a huge gender imbalance in Africa, and men would take many wives. In the Americas, few women came from Spain or Portugal which led the men to take Native or African wives. The children of mixed descent were called mestizos or mulattoes.
