There are 32 animals in a barn some are chickens and some are pigs. Altogether there are 84 legs how many chickens and pigs are there

p= pig

c +p =32

32-p=c

2c +4p =84

2(32-p) +4p = 84

64-2p +4p =84

2p = 20

p = 10

32-10 = 22

check: 4 x 10 = 40,  2 x 22 = 44, 40+44=84 

there are 10 pigs and 22 chickens
