Lymph is a colorless, watery fluid that is similar to blood plasma. It is derived from blood plasma as fluids pass through capillary walls at the arterial end. Lymph contains proteins, salts, and other substances.
The lymphatic system is a network of organs, vessels, and tissues that move lymph back to the bloodstream. The lymphatic system drains fluid that has leaked from the blood vessels into the tissues and empties it back into the bloodstream via the lymph nodes.
