What is the first and best response by the charge nurse in this situation?
1) Unfortunately, no one cares about your feelings; either you work or the manager may write an incident report.
2) I paged the supervisor about the staffing level. In the meantime, I'll provide assistance. It's going to be tough, but together we can do it.
3) You can't refuse more clients. We need you to be a team player. Your refusal adds a burden on the other nurses.
4) You are responsible to care for your assigned clients. The state board holds you accountable.
