Suppose the equation y=12+10x models the amount of money in your wallet, where y is the total in dollars and x is the number of weeks from today. If you graphed this equation, determine what the slope represents in this graph

Respuesta :

y = 12 + 10x....let me re-arrange this
y = 10x + 12....in y = mx + b form (which is what this is in now), the slope will be in the m position.

y = mx + b
y = 10x + 12
as u can see, the number in the m position is 10. So u have a slope of 10.

The slope would represent how much ur adding to ur wallet each week. U are adding $ 10 dollars for (x) weeks.

The equation:

[tex]y=12+10x[/tex]

models the amount of money in your wallet. Where:

x: Represents the number of weeks from today

y: Represents the total in dollars

This graph is indicated in the figure bellow. The slope of this graph is 10, that is, the term accompanying the variable x. The slope of a line is the number of units the line rises (or falls)  vertically for each unit of horizontal change from left to right. So, in this problem, this represents how much your adding to your wallet each week. You are adding $10 dollars for x weeks.
