The laws of exponents that are applied in standard form are:

[tex]x^m*x^n=x^{m+n}[/tex]
[tex] \frac{x^m}{x^n} =x^{m-n}[/tex]

Example 1:
(6.25 × 10⁴) × (2.53 × 10⁻⁹)
(6.25×2.53) × (10⁴×10⁻⁹)
15.8125 × 10⁽⁴ ⁺ ⁻⁹⁾
15.8125×10⁻⁵

Example 2:
(3.65×10⁵) ÷ (1.45×10⁻²) 
(3.65÷1.45) × (10⁵÷10⁻²)
2.52×10⁽⁵ ⁻ ⁽⁻²⁾⁾
2.52×10⁵⁺²
2.52×10⁷
