1. First and foremost, it is the primary ordained job of every parent to bring up their children in a happy and homely atmosphere. 
2. Parents are morally bound to make the presence of their children felt when suggestions are sought, decisions are taken and trade-offs with a number of available options are discussed. 
3. Parents should allow their children to voice their opinions about their career and marriage. While it is imperative for parents to promote discussion, the power to take the final call should be thrust upon their children, after enumerating the pros and cons of a particular decision. 
4. Parents are morally obliged to inculcate values and principles of societal living in their endeavor to produce law abiding citizens. 
5. It is the moral responsibility of parents to help their children learn from their mistakes without preaching, but by following the "lead by example" concept.
