Herbie is a typical high school student. He enjoys school, friends, sports, and his motorcycle. Unfortunately he was not wearing his helmet and had a serious accident that resulted in a brain injury.

Describe specifically how his injuries would affect his ability to perform certain behaviors and give a possible reason that if a part were injured, the expected behavior problems might not occur. For example, if his cerebellum was damaged, he might have problems with his coordination for sports.

Use each of the following areas of the brain in your description.
a) occipital lobe
b) hippocampus
c) hypothalamus
d) amygdala
e) Broca's area
f) Wernicke's area

Respuesta :

If he damaged his occipital lobe , he might have trouble with his vision. If he damaged his hippocampus, he might have trouble in school due to long term memory problems. If he damaged his hypothalamus , he might need to take medicine to help him sleep because the hypothalamus governs physiological functions. If he damaged his amygdala, he might need a therapist to help with his emotion behavior. If he damaged his Broca's area , he might have trouble with his speech. Finally , if he damaged his Wernicke's area , he might have trouble with his language development.
