They both lend each other to one another because they are both art forms
There are several reasons why artists might employ musical imagery in their works so frequently. First of all, music and literature are both common forms of art. This means that they are both able to convey strong feelings easily, as well as communicate ideas that go beyond words. Moreover, both music and literature (particularly poetry) rely on rhyme and rhythm to convey a message, as well as to create a lasting impact on the reader or the listener. Finally, both art forms are similar in that they are accessible to any person.
