Hohokam had once settled in the Sonoran Desert which is known for its harsh and extreme conditions. Despite this complication, the Hohokams were able to manipulate their environment. They lived in large ovals or sometimes quadrangle floor plans to reduce surface area and created potteries that settled their society.
