When a decimal is written in word form, what indicates that the equivalent form is a mixed number and not a fraction

Respuesta :

Explanation:

When a decimal is written in word form,

The equivalent form is a  mixed number not a fraction

Since mixed number always includes a whole part as well as fractional part but we know that fraction does not contain so .

Fraction only consists a numerator and a denominator.

For example,

We consider a number "10.25"

When we write it in a word form, first we change it in mixed fraction i.e

[tex]10.25\\\\=10\frac{25}{100}\\\\=10\frac{1}{4}[/tex]

So, we get that there is a whole part i.e. 10 and remaining part i.e.

[tex]\frac{1}{4}[/tex]   is a fractional part.

But we write a fraction like this only i.e

[tex]\frac{5}{6}[/tex]

is only fraction with no whole part .
