The American Colonies were growing increasingly frustrated with being taxed without representation, and this frustration was the main reason for the convening of the the first and second continental congresses. The colonies were frustrated with The Intolerable Acts and they voted for a boycott of British imports and sent a letter of petition to King George III as a result. They ended up organizing the continental army and this all eventually led to the American Revolution.
