In the story's both the characters are in trouble because they were rude and the wall and palace both did something out of the ordinary.  

1. Kaddo and Prince Harweda were both selfish because they had "extra". Kaddo had extra food while Prince Harweda had everything he wanted from the day of his birth

2. They were both very rich

3. They both didn't know what being poor felt like
