The light reactions harvest Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADPH), while the carbon reactions produce sugar. The light reaction of photosynthesis will be using water to produce NADPH. This product will then be used in the carbon reaction called Calvin cycle to produce sugar.
