Jane, Jasmine, and Jocelyn have record collections. Jane has 3 times as many records as Jocelyn has. Jasmine has 2 more than twice the number Jocelyn has. Together the three girls have 56 records. How many records does each girl have?

x = 3z
y = 2z + 2

3z + 2z + 2 + z = 56
6z + 2 = 56
6z = 56 - 2
6z = 54
z = 54/6

x = 3(9)
x = 27 <=== jane

y = 2z + 2
y = 2(9) + 2
y = 18 + 2
