they started to raid french colonies and changed their battle style to hit and run and hiding in trees. They also stated to demand guns as trade. The Iroquois then became better armed than their enemy Natives and started to equal the French Colonies power

The relationship between the French and the Iroquois were never very good. Sometimes fur trading was affected because of the constant discord between them, since the Native Americans would often sell beavers for the French.

Samuel de Champlain was the founder of Quebec and established a amicable relationship with the Native Americans from the Montagnais, Algoquin and Huron tribes, but the relationship with the Iroquois was still not good, and because of that, those tribes helped the French to attack an Iroquois camp. After the battle, for several years the Iroquois aimed to get revenge raiding the French settlements.
