First you need to distribute 5-(2x+3) which would equal 5-2x-3
Then do the same on the other side for 2(x+1) which would equal -6x+2x+2
After you distribute you are left with  5-2x-3 <(or equal to) -6x+2x+2
Now you need to combine like terms so 5-3 is 2 and on the other side combine -6x +2x to get -4x
Now you have 2-2x < -4x+2
Add your x to one side so I took the 2 on the left and added it to the -4 on the right and got -2x
You are left with 2 < -2x + 2
Subtract the 2 on the right and you get 0
final answer is 0 < x but the variable should be on the left so switch it to
x < o

5- (2x +3) < -6 +2 (x+1)
5-2x-3 < -6x+2x+2
2-2x < -4x+2
2<-2x +2
0<x
x>0
