Realism is an orientation that sees things for what they actually are. It is a pragmatic and truthful perspective that is based solely on facts. 

Realism is inclined on practicality and practicing common sense. It focuses on what is actual and real as opposed to speculating or seeing things in an abstract way. It doesn’t perceive concepts for what it should or could be. 

Realism is a point of view applied in different fields such as politics, philosophy, fine arts, and literature.

The term realism was used for the first time by Champfleury who was a French novelist and this term generally refers to certain grittiness in the choice of subject. Realism is mostly connected with naturalism. It is the depiction of nature which is in its detailed terms and is accurate.
