Under Article C)VI of the Constitution, the laws of Congress and all treaties are the law of the land. This article is seen as stating that all the laws of Congress and all treaties are supreme law. It equally forbids a religious test as requirement for holding a position within the government and holds the United States under the Constitution responsible for debts accumulated by the United States.
