Basically it’s because the root (the tree bark part)(tree) travels the nutrients from the sun (ext.) and brings them to the leaves to “feed them” so the leaves are the green bc there the ones receiving nutrients

Leaves are green because they contain a green pigment.

In the parlance of science, a hypothesis is a tentative explanation which must be testable.

In this case, i have hypothesized that the reason for the green color of leaves is the presence of a green pigment.

I must now subject the leaves, root and back of the tree to laboratory experiments to see if this pigment can only be extracted from the leaves.

If indeed, this pigment can only be extracted from plant leaves then the hypothesis is found to be true.
