Answer:  It is based on a rectangle and has tall columns leading to a gently sloping roof. Images on internet show how Parthenon reflects balance and order in its architecture.  Its massive foundations were made of limestone, and the columns were made of Pentelic marble. It was a temple dedicated to the goddess Athena which main function was to shelter her monumental statue.
