In 1750 he made his debut in politics as a deputy of the Assembly of Pennsylvania. Was state representative at the Congress of Albany, which met ahead of the Anglo-French colonial war, but his motions, which in many respects already foreshadowed the demands for autonomy of the colonies from the mother country, they were not approved. In 1757 Franklin traveled to London as a representative of the colonies in Parliament.
