The Pacific basin contains many deep sea trenches. Some of these trenches are the following: Mariana Trench in South Pacific Ocean, Philippine Trench which stretches from Luzon to Halmahera, Indonesia, Tonga Trench which stretches from the North Island of New Zealand to the Tonga Island, Aleutian Trench which is in between of the Alaska U.S. state and Siberia in Russia, and others.
