I think it's A because the eye level gives you a sense of proximity while the shadows give an ominous effect to the plot and depth of the characters in question. I don't think it's B because lighting like this has the opposite effect,C because it makes it even more so tense and D- I think the eye level and hot colours do that, not the shadows themselves.
