PET or Positron Emission Tomography is a type of diagnostic radiology where radioactive sugars are injected into a patient and as the body intake those sugars, images are taken. These provide images that ahoy where sugars are being uptakes the highest, and are good for highlighting areas of abnormal sugar intake, which usually happens for Parasitic, Fungal Diseases (Coccidiodimycosis) or Malignancies (Cancers).
