Mike’s soccer team won 3/4 of its games. The team won 18 games. How many games did the team play?  Let n be the # of games played.  Then (3/4)n = 18.  We must solve for n.  Mult. both sides of this equation by (4/3). 

This results in (12/12)n = 1n = n = 24.
