Jamestown is the first settelment in the colony of Virginia where the settelers established, due to hard conditions the settelers faced many problems regarding food, lodging etc with which they were helped by the PowhatanI dians.
When the Virginia Company reached Virginia in April 1607 they started a settlement that they called Jamestown. The relationship between the settlers and the Native Americans was not always good, when John Smith took control of the settlement colonists started to farm and a trade was established with the Powhatan people. The Powhatan started to trade food for copper and iron implements which helped the Jamestown colony to be revived and recovered from the famine.
