There are several factors which determine the distance travelled by a kicked football. These are: 1. Speed with which it is kicked 2. Angle at which it is kicked 3. air resistance 4. wind speed 5. whether it spirals or not ; if it does, at what angular speed. So wind speed is one of the factors and not the only one.
