The resistance (R) in a wire increases when the length of the wire (L) increases. Write the correct equation for this scenario , and solve fot when the length is 1

Respuesta :

R= .2L; R = .2

Hope this helps

Answer;

The correct equation;

= 1.01 R

Explanation;.

The formula for resistance (R) = resistivity (r) x Length (L)/Area (A)

As there is an increase in length, there is also an increase in the resistance.

If we increase the length by 1 % of its original value, assuming the area remains constant, then the resistance will also becomes 1% = 1/100 = 0.01 times of its original value as resistance is directly proportional to the length.

Therefore; the new resistance = R + 1/100R

= R + R/100

= 101R/100

The new resistance = 1.01 R
