What do you do to the colors in the background of a picture to make it look farther away?

A- Make the colors lighter and dull.
B- Make the colors darker and brighter.
C- Do nothing to the colors.
D- Change the size of the colors.

as a painter myself..... im going to say B. Make the colors darker and brighter. D doesnt make any sense. C would make your painting look flat. A. you cant make your colors lighter or duller unless your paint color is dull or light.
Best answer would be B and a tip you should add shadows and highlights
