What would be the effect of chloroplast in an elephants cell? What are the negative/positive outcomes?

Respuesta :

the skin would be green and possibly able to save energy

The chloroplast would cause the elephant to turn a green hue since it is the part of the cell that absorbs light and causes plants to be green. Some of the negative outcomes is that the chloroplast may create too much sources of energy that the cells may overload with too much energy and die. This may also cause effects similar to diabetes, since an elephant would continue to eat, it may have high sugar contents in the blood stream causing breakdown of the nervous system especially in the extremities. Some positive outcomes, however, would be that if the elephant couldn't find a source of food, that the chloroplast will help sustain and prolong fasting periods until food is readily available.
