Mineral deposits in streams may be extracted by dredging.
Dredging is an excavation method by which sediments and debris are removed from the bottom of water bodies such as streams, lakes, sea, rivers etc. This method is carried out by using a specialist floating plant called dredger and the method is used for several purposes such as to recover useful or valuable substances (such as minerals) or to produce a higher depth of water.
