The 9th is part of the Bill of Rights. The 14th prohibits states from reducing the privileges of citizens and ensure them each citizen the right to due process and the equal protection of the law.

The 9th amendment states that any rights not written in the Constitution, or granted specifically to the government, belongs to the people.

The 14th amendment ensures that anyone born on US soil is automatically a US citizen. It also contains the Equal Protection Clause which is meant to help all people regardless of race getting treated equally under the law.

These two amendments are similar in the sense that they both protect the rights of citizens from government abuse.
