PLZ HELP ME!!! LAST QUESTION!!
Which revision uses a relative clause to combine the sentences?
M.C. Escher was an artist. His works were inspired by mathematics.

1)M.C. Escher was inspired by mathematics because he was an artist.

2)M.C. Escher, an artist, was inspired by mathematics.

3)M.C. Escher, who was an artist, was inspired by mathematics.

4)M.C. Escher was an artist and was inspired by mathematics.

Respuesta :

number 3 is the correct answer. Including the interjection "who was an artist" is a relative clause refering back to M.C Escher.
Of course it's C (or number 3 in this case) it creates a something that is not needed in the sentence, thus a relative cause.
