Please answer ASAP
How do you solve this? Show all steps so I know how to do it please.
*using the Pythagorean Theorem
1. a= 7, b=____, c=12
2. a=____, b=12, c=15
3. a= 8, b=____, c= (square root of 164)
Pythagorean Theorem is a formula stating that a^2 + b^2 = c^2 Or in other words, the smallest side of a triangle squared, plus the second smallest side squared, equals the hypotenuse squared
For number one
7^2 + b^2 = 12^2 Or 49 + x^2 = 144 And we solve the equation so X^2 = 144 - 49 X^2 = 95 The answer to one is the square root of 95 (which is about 9.74679434)
For number 2 the same follows A^2 + 12^2 = 15^2 A^2 + 144 = 225 A^2 = 81 A = the square root of 81 (which is 9)
For the last one 8^2 + b^2 = square root of 164 I cant seem to figure this one out are you sure you wrote the problem correctly?
