Answer: Erysipelas

Erysipelas is an acute infection caused by group A Streptococcus bacteria. Causes skin rash usually on the legs and toes, face, arms, and fingers with a distinct margin (just like the toodler had on her leg).
It can spread to lymph nodes and some other symptoms are fever, chills, and pain on the affected areas.
It can be treated with penicillin V.

Answer: Seeing all the symptoms, the doctor diagnosed the diseases to be Erysipelas. It is a superficial form of cellulitis, by Group A beta haemolytic Streptococcus pyogenes.

Symptoms:

  • Tenderness
  • Red patches
  • Swollen lymph node leading to lymphatic damage
  • Pain on touching the patch Purpura
  • Bleeding into skin may cause

Treatment:

  • General treatment include Cold pack, Compression shockings
  • Antibiotic treatment include Erythromycin, Erythromycin or Vancomycin in facial erysipelas.
