This is how I'd do it:
"That's it, Honey. They're all here. Most are men, all are white and angry, it seems. There's no many people here that I can see people standing. There aren't enough sits. It makes me wonder: why did they come? People usually go to events that make them happy, right? Are they happy to see a black man on trial? I'm innocent, but it seems they don't care. They just want to get it done. The air is heavy and there's an awkward mix of silence and gossip. People don't move much. They all seem tense. It feels like the light got a bit dim with all this bad sensation that they emanate from those wooden benches."
