Concurrence is a concept that means that actus reus and mens rea need to be present simultaneously at the time of the crime for it to be deemed a crime.
Concurrence of actus reus (commiting the illegal act) and mens rea (intent to commit the act, doing it on purpose) is generally necessary to constitute a crime.
