Respuesta :
c) members of both groups were prohibited from serving in the military because of their questionable loyalties
The correct answer is the first one: Members of both groups had negative feelings toward the Allies and favored American neutrality.
Both, the Irish Americans and the German Americans had negative feelings toward the Allies, mainly the British. For the Irish Americans, this is due to the fact that at that time Ireland was struggling for its independence from the United Kingdom, therefore the Irish community in the United States would never have supported the Allies. For the German Americans, to some degree, they had strong sympathy for Imperial Germany. For these reasons, both communities favored American neutrality during WWI and, in fact, they were opposed to the Treaty of Versailles after the war, since in their eyes it was too favorable to the British side.
