Two planes leave an airport at noon. If the eastbound plane flies at 560 mph and the westbound plane flies at 500 mph, at what time will they be 2,000 miles apart? Round your answer to the nearest minute

Both planes will cover 1060 miles in 60 minutes ( we're talking about distance covered in an hour)

   When they're 2,000 miles apart, the time t = X

   So X = (2000 * 60) / 1060 = 113 minutes.

   Since there are 120 minutes in 2 hours.

   So they'll be 2, 000 miles apart in 113 minutes = 1 hour 53 minutes.
