Nevertheless, the consequences of his actions (mainly his decision to get married) change him. These decisions develop the theme of the story, which is the story of an honest man that becomes greedy. Marriage makes father want to look for more wealth and abandon his way of living. This develops the plot and brings new events into the story, like the couple opening a restaurant.
