A patient who  is  alcoholic  and  is  admitted  to  hospital  for  acute  withdrawal and  has  elevated  liver  enzyme, the  np  should  except  to prescribe Benzodiazepines and  lorazepam. The  benzodiazepines  are used  to  treat  alcohol  withdrawal  because  they  have  cross tolerance with  alcohol. Lorazepam(short   acting benzodiazepines)  are  also  used  since  the  patient  had  liver  damage.
