How do environmental processes (glaciations, weathering, etc.) and physical characteristics (mountains, rivers, etc.) influence human settlement and activity? Be sure to include an example of each.

Respuesta :

These processes and characteristics greatly influence human settlement an activity. First of all, we'll talk about mountains. Mountains lead to isolated settlements, just as you might know about Ancient Greece, therefore anyone who settles there might not receive food or water, or alert anybody if they need help fast enough. Next, rivers can provide a perfect method of water and lead to good and fertile soil. You can remember this because of Ancient River Valley civlizations- that's why they settled by rivers. Glaciations can effect human settlement and activity because anywhere where this occurs will probably repel settlers, as it's very cold and there are limited options for food. Hope this helps!
