Over the years, both the Health and Human Services Commission
and the Attorney General of the state of Texas have been seriously criticized for
a lack of drive in pursuing nursing home violations. Nursing
home violations generally refer to conditions wherein there is either a significant likelihood
or a definitive proof that death or serious mental or physical harm will
result, or has resulted.
